The 18th annual targetjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards took place on 7 April at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, hosted by comedian Jason Manford.
Nearly 1,000 industry professionals gathered to celebrate the great work of employer and university early careers teams. The awards provide an opportunity to celebrate talented individuals and teams who are making their mark in our sector.
29 awards were handed out on the night – 14 sector awards, based on over 65,000 student votes from Cibyl’s UK graduate recruitment survey - and 15 panel awards such as best diversity and inclusion strategy, and best internship or placement programme - judged by students and industry professionals.
New awards this year were the Sustainability in Early Talent Recruitment Award, won by Ward Hadaway and Willkie Farr & Gallagher (UK) LLP; and the most popular ‘scale-up' graduate recruiter, won by Monzo.
For the fifth year running, IBM scooped the Graduate Employer of the Year Award.
This year the HE careers and employability professional of the year award was won by Christel Thames from Brunel University and the early careers professional of the year award was won by Nicola Lamplough from Experian. Roisin Kennedy from Lockheed Martin UK received the rising star award, whilst Tara Suran from IBM won the apprentice of the year.
Paul Clarke, enterprise account director at GTI commented:
“What can I say!? Perhaps the finest targetjobs awards that I have ever been a part of, and just incredible to have so many from the industry, all back in one room, able to celebrate like it's 2019! Many congratulations to all of the winners and those shortlisted. The standard of entries was extremely high this year, and some categories were closer than ever before! Huge thanks to our many supporters and to all those who came to celebrate our important work in creating opportunity for the next generation”.
