Using our extensive experience in the graduate sector with market-leading products, including TARGETjobs and TARGETpostgrad, GTI recently set our sights on applying our skills and expertise to the school leaver market. Through a series of innovative media and new ventures, we have made the first leap in making a significant improvement of the provision of information and guidance resources for young people, regarding their career and HE prospects.

In addition, we have ensured that key influencers, like schools, are able to access an integrated range of services and resources to help their pupils understand their strengths, research their options, build skills and make informed decisions on career and further education prospects. Services we offer include:

School leaver resources

TARGETcareers helps school leavers make better choices about their future by providing expert information and advice on the range of career possibilities available. Whether they are considering university, sponsored degree programme with an employer or a higher apprenticeship, TARGETcareers is there to help them take the next step in their education or career.

In addition to online careers resources, TARGETcareers prints four essential publications (TARGETcareers Guide to your future, TARGETcareers Construction, Engineering and Property, TARGETcareers Paths to Professional Careers – a Parent’s Guide and TARGETcareers Developing Student Employability – a Teacher’s Guide) free into schools, with a combined circulation of 135,000 copies in order to raise the profile of career opportunities.

You can request, view and download copies of TARGETcareers’ guides for school students and their parents and teachers by going to the Parents and teachers area of TARGETcareers.

The TARGETcareers Student Challenge is a national competition for any student in years 12 and 13 or further education College, that tests students’ key strengths and work readiness. The top 100 are invited to the final at the BT Tower, where they will be pitted against other competitors across a number of challenges to find the overall winner.

Students attending the grand final get the opportunity to network with employers and to receive expert careers advice. The winner will also be awarded the grand prize — a unique day’s experience with BT at their state-of-the-art global research & development headquarters.

The TARGETcareers Student Challenge offers school students unprecedented opportunities to network with employers, while adding extracurricular advantages when applying to universities or apprenticeships.
