TARGETjobs Events announced today the launch of Explore Sky: a new and exclusive event for undergraduates looking to discover more about careers in software engineering and technology at Sky. 

On 28 September 2015, around 50 undergraduates will spend a day at Sky’s London HQ in Osterley, just outside central London. They will take part in practical sessions designed to showcase their skills and personality. They’ll also network with the recruitment team, graduates and senior managers to hear first-hand about technology opportunities open to them on Sky’s Software Academy and Technology programmes.

GTI Media (publishers of TARGETjobs Law) and The Law Society have agreed an exclusive partnership offering the only online and published guide to training contracts produced in association with The Law Society.

Under this agreement both the TARGETjobs Law website and publication will contain details of training contracts on offer from solicitors throughout England and Wales together with all the advice and information students need to successfully launch their legal career, including finding the right LPC or conversion course.

TARGETjobs Law and The Law Society will also be working together to support and advise prospective solicitors at careers events and University law fairs throughout the year

For the first time, Google was voted by undergraduates as the most popular graduate employer in a record poll of 44,000 undergraduates conducted by international research firm trendence. The full list of the 300 most popular employers in the UK, including rankings by sector, gender and year of study, is published in The Guardian UK300 later this year, when 100,000 copies are distributed to students at leading universities.

Students at Scottish universities excelled at last Friday’s TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards winning 3 of the 12 awards at the gala ceremony in Canary Wharf, hosted by Fiona Bruce

The three Scottish winners were:

  • Lynne Howie, studying Business Economics and Finance at the University of Strathclyde, won the Future Business Leader of the Year Award, sponsored by Mars.

  • Chelsea Sievewright, studying Ethical Hacking at Abertay University, won the Computer Science Undergraduate of the Year Award, sponsored by CGI.
