09 / 12 / 2020Fiona Doherty

Early careers specialist GTI Recruiting Solutions, part of Group GTI, was awarded the ‘getting started’ award at this years’ final of the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards 2020 for inclusive recruitment practices.

These awards celebrate employers and recruiters that are breaking down barriers for people with disabilities seeking employment, and the ‘getting started’ award, recognises organisations that have just begun their journey to become disability confident.

GTI’s RPO team were nominated for their work in delivering inclusive recruitment practices for their clients; speaking at disability panels; writing articles to support students; taking part in disability group forums and attending specialist events to increase understanding. They also gave an insight into their journey to support GTI’s employees in areas such as flexible working, reasonable adjustments and mental health awareness.

As a RIDI member, GTI also nominated long-term client the FCA for the ‘Most inclusive recruitment campaign’ and recruitment partner EmployAbility in the ‘disability specialist’ category. These nominations recognised the collaboration between the FCA, EmployAbility and GTI in proactively advertising opportunities to disabled students, their in-depth conversations with students to determine the most suitable adjustments for their situation, and arranging insight events and mentor programmes. The FCA were successful in winning their category and EmployAbility were awarded a Highly Commended.

Speaking on their win, Hannah Harrison, business director of GTI Recruiting Solutions, said “As an early careers recruitment business, we have always taken our responsibilities of supporting candidates with disabilities in the recruitment process seriously. Getting started as a disability confident employer for us was all about getting the conversation started: for our clients; for our staff; and for the students we support. We are delighted to have won this award.”
