Engage school leavers

Aimed at ambitious school leavers, TARGETcareers FUTUREWISE gathers all the resources needed for young people to choose a career, apply to university or join a school leaver programme in one place. Together, we combine the expert careers advice and job listings offered by TARGETcareers with FUTUREWISE, the career and higher education programme from Inspiring Futures, to help students discover their career aspirations and make educated decisions about their future.

As an employer, we offer you unprecedented opportunities to engage with school leavers actively considering their career options. TARGETcareers FUTUREWISE provides you with the very best multimedia tools and face-to-face channels to target the right students and promote your job vacancies and apprenticeship programmes to a highly receptive audience.

Here’s how you can engage with school students through TARGETcareers FUTUREWISE:

School students want to know as much about your company as possible. On targetcareers.co.uk you can create a ‘hub’, which will be a focal point for information on school leaver careers with your organisation. Your employer hub can include:

  • a company profile, complete with logo, images and social links.
  • job opportunities (school leaver programmes, including higher apprenticeships).
  • school leaver employee profiles and Inside Buzz reviews to provide a peer-to-peer perspective.
  • videos to showcase your organisation and the stories of recent school leaver recruits.
  • open days and events you are involved in or hosting.

Career insight events

Inspiring Futures run a wide range of career insight events in a variety of subject areas from Engineering to AI and Robotics. These events put employers in front of young talent to position their brand and profile to a host of students from different social backgrounds.  From attending these events, students from years 11-13 and S4-6 experience what it’s like to work in their chosen field. Students encounter new environments, network with industry professionals and take part in hands-on activities to further their skills set and knowledge of their chosen career path. These events are a fantastic opportunity for brand awareness and to educate a large volume of students about your business.

We offer employers the opportunity to:

  • Deliver a keynote talk at an event about various opportunities within your company.
  • Work with Inspiring Futures on a sponsored recruitment event to target a more selective group of candidates. This can range from an apprenticeship/STEM/Female-only/BAME focused event.
  • Deliver employer focused webinars to our database of students, parents and schools.
  • Speak/exhibit at our Annual Conference

School leaver fairs

The School Leaver fairs are regional events that are hosted by leading schools. These fairs are a great opportunity for employers to reach out to a large volume of students around the country and to increase awareness about their company directly into schools.

Students have the potential to meet with employers who can discuss their higher apprenticeship, internships and school leaver opportunities instead of, or after, their year out. We also offer advertisement opportunities in our exclusive School Leaver programme which is distributed to all the schools we work with at the fairs.
